Dr. Anthony Strange

Dr. Anthony Strange age 72, of Fort Valley, GA formally of Hartwell, GA passed Thursday, February 8, 2018.

Dr. Strange was born in Hartwell, Georgia to the late Mr. Lamar and Mrs. Etta T. Strange.  He was a retired Fort Valley State University Professor of Education and Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.  Dr. Strange also served as a teacher/administrator for a period of thirty-four years and as Interim Dean of the College of Education.  

Funeral service will be 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Flat Rock C. M. E. Church, 5595 Cokesbury Highway, Hartwell, Georgia 30643 with Reverend Eddie Thornton officiating and Reverend Brad Goss serving as eulogist.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  

Survivors include:  his lovely wife of 49 years, Mrs. Annis T. Strange; children: Mrs. Sonia (Derrick) Cobb, Mr. Kevin Strange, Dr. Nicole (Tyler) Strange-Martin and Dr. Theodosia P. Strange; and other relatives.

A wake will be held 6:00-8:00 P.M., Monday, February 12, 2018 at Usher’s Temple C.M.E. Church, 411 Railroad Street, Fort Valley, Georgia 31030.
