Mrs. Annie Ruth Earle Moore, a loving mother, grandmother, and neighbor, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Piedmont Walton Hospital in Monroe, Georgia. She was born on July 7, 1935, in Lavonia, Georgia, to the late Buren Earle and Bertha Mae Bradley Earle.
Mrs. Moore was a member of New Light Baptist Church and also attended Harmony Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where in her earlier years she served faithfully on the Usher Board and sang in the choir.
She had a true love for gardening and could often be found planting and tending to her flowers. In quieter moments, she enjoyed working in her puzzle books, always keeping her mind active. Known affectionately as “Nana”, a name given to her by her granddaughter, she found great joy in caring for and spending time with her family—especially her beloved grandchildren—often showing her love through her delicious home- cooked meals. A kind and friendly spirit, she loved chatting with her neighbors and was seldom seen without her trademark smile and a bit of chewing tobacco.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Willie Lee Moore, Jr.; two sisters, Nettie V. Mayfield and Elizabeth Teasley; and two brothers, Felton Earle and John Earle.
In God’s keeping, she leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Shirley Wilson Turner, and son-in-law, Jonathan Turner, both of Monroe, Georgia; two grandchildren who were the lights of her life, Jada Elecia Turner (AJ) and Jeremiah O’Neal Turner of Monroe, Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Her gentle soul and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
