Anthony German, age 50 of Elberton, Georgia entered his eternal rest Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Mr. Anthony German (AG) was born on December 19, 1972, in Augusta Georgia. Anthony was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Many knew him as a jokester and was always willing to help. His favorite things to do were fishing, grilling, and most of all watching football. He was also known as an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons.
Anthony was a 1992 graduate of Screven County High School in Sylvania GA, where he was a model student and star football player. He would love to “brag” to his family and friends about how well he knew and played the game until an injury left him unable to play. After high school,
Anthony joined the United States Navy and served for three and a half years. After serving, he decided to work to earn a living.
Although Anthony loved his family and friends in his hometown, he moved to Elberton GA to join his wife in 2002 where he resided until his untimely death. While in Elberton, he worked at Martin Fireproofing, Carlisle Coatings and Waterproofing, and finished his journey at Elbert
County Solid Waste. Since he loved football so much, he decided to coach football as well as basketball for the Elbert County Recreation Department where he and some of his fellow coaches won the championship title for football. He also received his Associates Degree in
Marketing Management from Athens Technical College.
Preceding him in death was his mother Mrs. Mary Mincey Murphy.
Anthony loved his family dearly and leaves behind to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife Mrs. Tamika German; his daughters Kiera Rice, Dwaynasia Allen, and Lexxie Allen; one son, Anthony German Jr. (AJ); 1 grandchild, Cade Thorne; his father John Murphy Sr.; his father Alphonso Cheever Sr.; 9 brothers, Ernie Murphy (Anita), James Ponder, David Wadley Jr, John Murphy Jr. (Megan), Alphonso Cheever Jr., DeAndre Cheever, Corey Cheever, Jessie Cheever, and Tracy Cheever; 5 sisters, Pamela Murphy, Tina Murphy, Malikha Rhodes, Shannette Murphy, and Stacy Cheever Scott (Gabriel); 3 brothers-in-law, Tyrone Huff (Gretta), Jimmy Gray, and Tracey Rucker; 6 sisters-in-law, Jasmine Gray, Denise Glaze (Howard), Tara Rucker, Stacey Rucker, Pamela Rucker Martin, Shanteria Minter (Latrice) and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 1:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral - Elberton Chapel.
Internment Service will follow funeral services at Lincoln Height's Cemetery - Elberton, GA.
