Mr. Antonio Glenn Smith, age 56 made his peaceable transition on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Antonio “Tony" Smith was born on April 12, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Falmon Jr. & Evelyn Smith. From the very beginning, Antonio had a light about him-steady, warm, and full of quiet strength. He grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values with him throughout his life.
He attended Southwest DeKalb High School, where he poured his energy into football, track, and the yearbook staff. He graduated in 1987 and later attended Savannah State College. Antonio went on to serve his community with dedication through his years at the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. He also embraced entrepreneurship, owning a construction business, car salesman, and working as an electrician. Antonio was always working, always building, and always providing.
Antonio's greatest joy began the day he met the love of his life, the late Anissa Smith. Their connection was instant and deep. Together they built a marriage that lasted over 30 years. They were excited to start their lives together, and even more excited to start a family. Their daughters, Shatoya & Janiya, were the center of Antonio's world. When his grandson, Tristain, was born, Antonio's heart grew even fuller and he cherished that little boy with everything he had.
Family was everything to him, and he loved each of them fiercely. He especially cherished the time he spent with his great-nephews Noah, Nolan, and Ayden, who brought him endless joy.
Antonio was the heart of his family-the protector, the provider, the laughter. He had a way of making everyone feel safe, seen, and loved. His jokes could lift the heaviest day, and his presence could calm any storm. He was strong without being loud, loving without needing attention, and dependable in a way that made everyone feel anchored. His love was steady. His humor is unforgettable. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his spirit lives on in the stories we tell, the lessons he taught, and the love he poured into everyone he met. Antonio will forever be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the way he made his family feel-cherished, protected, and deeply loved.
Antonio leaves to cherish his memories with his daughters Shatoya Session & Janiya Smith, grandson Tristain Session, mother Dr. Evelyn Joyce Smith, sisters, Angelia Smith & Cynthia Warren, and his brothers, Adrien Smith & GeJuan "Dale" Smith (Aileen). He also leaves his beloved nieces-Tanganique, Santresea, Aleisea, Janae, Javoni, Denise, Courtney, Riley, & Destinee; nephews— Falmon III, Andre, & Michael; great nephews Ayden. Zion, Nolan, Noah, Luciano, & Christiano; great-nieces Adriana, Amaya, Aaliyah, Za'Riyah, & Ariya; and host of aunts, uncles, cousins & other relatives; along with beloved friends.
