Aunwan Lakento Murray

Mr. Aunwan Lakento Murray, age 41 passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, in Hartwell, Georgia.

Aunwan Lakento Murray was born on April 9, 1983, in Elberton, Georgia. Aunwan was such a talented individual, before he finished high school, he attended a summer program in 2000 at Cape and Bern Information Technology School in Atlanta, Georgia and received his A+ certification as a Computer Technician. He graduated from Elbert County High in 2001 and went on to attend Southern Polytech where he majored in Computer Science. He worked several jobs throughout his short career but finally called Walmart his home. He loved his job there and was recently promoted to Asset Protection Coach (Assistant Manager). Aunwan loved writing poetry and had won several poetry competitions. He also loved singing and karaoke. He was known by his family, friends and co-workers for his contagious smile and laughter. He could light up a room with his presence and if he called you friend, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to make sure he could bring joy and happiness to your life.

He was a member of Christian Worship Assembly in Hartwell, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Fredrick Vehe and there he served in the choir.

He leaves to mourn his mother Phyllis White (Daniel) his father, Danny Murray (Perpetual) sister Katrina Murray (children: Kasea, Daniya, Ethan and Malcolm Carter). His grandparents (Lewis Callaway and Barbara Murray) stepsisters Ashley White (Bentavis Allen and children: Trez and Kaden) Amelia Warren (Thomas Warren and children: Camryn Fuller and Tomiyus Warren), stepbrother Mwiza Simfukwe and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lastly, he leaves to mourn his best friend and buddy of almost 14 years his dog Chase.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1:00pm, located at Christian Worship Assembly.
