On Tuesday evening, February 24, 2026, as the sun slowly began to set in the western sky, the Lord walked through His garden and noticed an empty space. He then sent His angels down from Heaven, and they found a faithful servant. Gently, they placed their arms around Ms. Bessie Elizabeth Hill of Canon, Georgia, and carried her home to rest. God’s garden must be truly beautiful, for He always takes the very best.
Bessie Elizabeth Hill was born on June 15, 1952, to Sally R.V. Hill. She departed this life surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and quiet strength.
Bessie received her education at Hart County Training School, where she built the foundation for a life rooted in hard work and perseverance. She dedicated 17 years of faithful service to Brown Health and Rehabilitation Center, caring for others with compassion and commitment. In addition to her work in healthcare, Bessie was also the co-owner of Design Me Catering and Decorating. She found great joy in helping families celebrate life’s most cherished occasions.
In her leisure time, Bessie enjoyed watching NBA basketball games and television sitcoms, often sharing laughter with those around her. She also found comfort and spiritual renewal in watching religious devotions, which strengthened her faith and brought her peace.
Bessie leaves to cherish her loving memory to her son, Kevin Hill; her God daughter, Devon Curry, her sister, Sylvia Craft; nieces, Cheryl Curry, Sandra Martinez, Patricia Craft, and Veronica Rodriguez; and nephew, Randall (Renae) Curry; her best friends, Phyllis Ann Curry and Yvonne Merritt; along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, R.V. Hill; her sister, Nellie Joe Curry; and her nephew, Eric Curry.
Bessie will be remembered for her warm heart, her dedication to caring for others, and the love she so freely gave. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the memories of those who were blessed to know her.
