Charles Albert Heard

Charles A. Heard, United States Army Veteran,  age 93, of Hartwell, Georgia, entered his eternal rest on Monday, June 20, 2022.

Charles A. Heard 93, was born March 18, 1929 to the late Jim and Leana Heard. He gained his wings on June 20, 2022.
Charles accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined St. Paul C. M. E. Church in Bowman, GA where he served as a deacon. After many years of service he was able to wear the honorable title of oldest member. He was also a United States Army Veteran, who fought for our country in the Korean War. He was known as a local bondsman and a board member of the Hart County Ninth District.
Charles was a man of all men, an avid collector of many things, and a true pillar of the community. He loved to spend time laughing and fellowshipping with family and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Jim and Leana Heard; his wife: Mildred Heard; 3 sons Charles Edward, Roger, and Jerome Heard; and 6 siblings: Swanson, Gladys, James, Harry, Hattee, and Matthew.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 1, 2022 at the St. Paul C.M.E. Church located at 18 Adams Circle, Bowman, Georgia, 30624.

Interment will follow in the Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery, Bowman.

Public viewing will  be held from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Mack's Funeral Home & Cremation Service-Hartwell chapel located at 266 Maple St., Hartwell, Georgia.

Charles’ love and kindness shall forever cling to the hearts and minds of his daughter: Cherry Heard- Mattox (Tron) of Hartwell, GA; 2 daughters-in-law: Gloria Heard of Hartwell, GA and Min. Carolyn Heard of Anderson, SC; 10 grandchildren: Chucky Smoot, Charvone Heard, Tyckeda Wells, Desirae Winnie, Lance Heard, Tawanda Smith, J’Sonn Heard, Na’Vy Clark, Nas Clark, and I’Vy Mattox; 6 bonus grandchildren: Reco Mattox, Kadien, Trontaveous, Zykevious, Alaya, and Alicia Mattox; 3 sisters: Sallie Mae Cunningham, Fannie Sue Byrd, and Joyce Smith; 5 sisters-in-law: Rosa Tucker, Mattie Blackwell, Della Smith, Gerolene Sheller, and Melinda Blackwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
