Mr. Charles Edward Jackson departed this life on December 19, 2025, at the age of sixty-nine, to exchange his earthly life for an eternal life.
Charles Edward Jackson, affectionately known as “Rock Chow,” was born on March 16, 1956, in Hartwell, Georgia, to the late Willie Leroy Jackson and Lois Mae (Tucker) Jackson. He departed from this life on December 19, 2025, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Charles proudly served in the National Guard Armory and truly enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to run, dance, and make people laugh—everyone knew Rock Chow. He was a natural comedian and actor, his joyful spirit and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; twelve siblings; and two great grandchildren.
He leaves to mourn his wife Ruth Delphine (Harper) Jackson of Hartwell, Georgia; his daughter Warnola Jackson of Hartwell, Georgia; two granddaughters Vernesha (Muntrez) Carpenter and Bytedria Hill both of Hartwell, Georgia; four great grandchildren Daniya Little, Muntrez Carpenter, Jr., Mylan Carpenter, and Kenderrious Huff all of Elberton, Georgia; two sisters Diane Keith of Gainesville, Georgia and Linda Johnson; three brothers Joseph (Lorene) Jackson, and Chris Jackson both of Hartwell, Georgia, Frank Jackson of Commerce, Georgia; a very special nephew, Greg “Tutt” Stowers of Hartwell, Georgia, with whom he shared a close bond; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 1:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00am, located at Zion C.M.E. Church.
Interment will immediately follow the funeral service located at. Zion C.M.E. Church Cemetery.
