Christine Morrison

Christine Morrison, age 95 of Hartwell, Georgia of entered her eternal rest Jan. 24, 2021.

 Mrs. Christine Morrison, the daughter of the late James and Ida Hunt Strange departed this earthly life on January 24, 2021.

 All other siblings, Fannie Strange, Cynthis Hannah, Eula Mae Jones, Spences Strange, Willie Strange, Lamar Strange, and Alonzo Strange preceded her in death.

 Mrs. Morrison was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Ben Morrison. There were no children born to this union. However, children were a part of their lives.

 She attended the public schools of Hart County. Her collegiate education began at Stillman College, Tuscaloosa, Al, and continued at the Alabama State University. She taught schools in Grey, Georgia, Wrens, Georgia, and Hartwell, Georgia retiring in 1981. She was selected Teacher of the Year while teaching at the Hart County Training School, as well as a member of the Local National Retired Teacher Association and the Georgia Association of Educators.  

 She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Flat Rock C. M.E. Church. She was a member of the Sunday School, Missionary Society, Adult Choir, Stewardess Board, as well as the church pianist for over 50 years.

 In her spare time, she loved to travel and gardening.

 Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Flat Rock CME Church Family Life Center located at 5595 Cokesbury Hwy, Hartwell, Georgia.

 Ms. Morrison will be placed in the Life Center Saturday at 12 noon until hour of service.

 Interment will be in the Flat Rock C.M.E. Church Cemetery Hartwell, Georgia.

 Cherishing the memories of her life’s journey are nieces Vashti Starks and Sandra Rozier; nephews, James Strange, Spencer Strange, Thomas Strange, Maxwell Strange, and Alonzo Strange. A host of other relatives, friends, and devoted students.
