Clyde Edward Burton Sr. was born on October 17, 1943, to the late Charlie Burton and Willie Mae Burton and peacefully entered eternal rest on October 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Willie Mae Burton; six siblings, Louise, Will Tom, Samuel, Walter J., Joshua, and Tommie.
Clyde was a man of strong faith, steady character, and gentle spirit. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and continued a life of service through his work at Apex, where he labored faithfully until his health began to decline.
A devoted man of God, Clyde was a long-standing member of White’s Chapel CME Church, where he served faithfully as a steward, trustee, and church treasurer. His commitment to the Lord and his church family never wavered. He was known for his integrity, quiet wisdom, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Clyde was united in holy matrimony to Julia Burton, his loving wife and life partner. Their marriage was a beautiful example of devotion, strength, and love that endured through all of life’s seasons.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Julia Burton; his loving sons, Mr. Clyde Burton Jr., Mr. Terry Burton, and Mr. Kristoffen Burton all of Elberton, Georgia and one brother, Mr. Larry (Lisa) Burton of Elberton, Georgia, He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
