It is with a saddened heart we announce the earthly transition of Mr. Clyde Oglesby, 80 of Elberton, Georgia who suddenly slipped into eternity on Monday, November 24, 2025, in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Clyde Oglesby was born in Elbert County, GA on September 7, 1945, to Mr. Thomas Lee "Smokey" Oglesby and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Allen) Oglesby whom both preceded him in death.
He joined the Norman Grove C.M.E. Church at an early age. He attended Elbert County Schools. He later went on to pursue a career with the City of Elberton Public Works where he retired from after 40 years.
He was preceded in death by four brothers Don Oglesby, James Howard Oglesby, Willie Richard Oglesby and Lester Oglesby.
He leaves to cherish his memories his sister Peggy Oglesby; a niece Tarra (Patrick) Thomas; a nephew Tyrell Moss; two great nephews Calen Gaither and Tyrell Moss, Jr.; five nieces Kinsley Jackson, Karmen Moss, Keira Moss, Maleah Moss, and Kardi Moss; along with many cousins and friends; and his special caregiver Mrs. Rosalind Ashmore.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Due to inclement weather, the service for Mr. Oglesby will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1;00pm, located at Norman Grove C.M.E. Church.
We ask that you keep the Oglesby family in your prayers.
