Deacon Johnny Ervin Norman, Jr.

Deacon Johnny Ervin Norman, Jr. age, 84, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia. He was born to the late Rev. Ervin Norman, Sr. and Jessie Mae Willis Norman on May 15, 1941, in Elberton, Georgia.

Deacon Norman was a faithful and dedicated member of Fortson Grove Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, His life also carried him for many years spreading God's word through song as he travelled with The Gospel Bells of Elberton, GA, and later The Norman Brothers of Gainesville, GA.

Deacon Norman is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jacqulyn Patricia (Brown) Norman; son, Timothy O. Norman; and sisters, Willie Elma Norman and, Evelyn Norman.

He is survived by his children, Johnny Ervin (Regina) Norman of Honolulu, HI, David Norman of Gainesville, GA, Annese Norman of Gainesville, GA; granddaughter, Lattrecia Norman of Honolulu, HI; siblings, Mary Ella Hester of Gainesville, GA, Emma Banks of Gainesville, GA, Kathy Butler of Washington, Jessie Marie Norwood of McDonough, GA, Roosevelt Norman of Gainesville, GA, Larry Norman of Jefferson, GA, Terry Norman of Gainesville, GA; and many other loving friends and family.

Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Reverend Larry Norman, Kathy Butler, and James Allen will be officiating the service. The family will be holding a wake prior to the service from 11:00 to 1:00 PM.

 Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A Memorial Service for Deacon Norman will be held at Fortson Grove Baptist Church, Elberton, GA on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2:00PM.
