Deloris Burch Obituary

Courtesy Announcement:

Mrs. Deloris (Brown) Burch was born January 29, 1952, to the late Mack Ree and Elzora Brown. Deloris, affectionately known as “Lois”, was the second oldest of four children. She was loving, caring, and very generous.

Lois accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Henry Rodgers.

Lois graduated from Hart County Training School in Hartwell, GA. She met Aurthamis Burch, and they were united in holy matrimony in 1970. They moved to Atlanta, GA and were blessed with two loving children, Aurthamis O. Burch of Snellville, GA and Renay Solomon of Stockbridge, GA., and two bonus sons, Robert Aurthamis Burch (preceded in death) and Malcolm “Mac” Lawson. Lois loved her family and would go above and beyond for her children and grandchildren.

Lois worked for Western Electric, now known as OFS, and retired after 25 years of service. She later began a career with DeKalb County School System.

In 1995, Lois joined Berean Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Kerwin B. Lee, and she faithfully served as an usher and greeter.

Lois enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She would always host holiday gatherings in her home and was known for cooking the best meals. She also loved to travel.

On April 2, 2025, the Lord whispered in her ear and said, “Come home Lois, your work here is done”. Preceding her in death are her parents Mack Ree and Elzora Brown, two sisters, Linda Faye Roebuck and Emma May Jones, and son, Robert Aurthamis Burch.

Lois leaves to cherish her life and fond memories, two sisters, Barbara Verdell of Decatur, GA and Louise Geter of Hartwell, GA; one son, Aurthamis Burch (Eleise); one daughter, Renay Solomon (Vincent); and one bonus son, Malcolm “Mac” Lawson; ten grandchildren, Tray Burch, Reshena Burch, Tyler Burch, Justin Burch, Matthew Burch, Amber Solomon, Jahvon Burch, Curtis Williams, Vincent Solomon III and Gabby Gaines; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
