"Elder" Anthony Eberhardt Obituary

Elder Anthony Cornelious Eberhardt age 68, of Elberton, Georgia, entered his eternal rest on Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Elder Anthony Cornelious Eberhardt entered eternal rest on December 31, 2022, surrounded by his beloved wife and loving family.

Anthony was born to the late James Henry Eberhardt Sr. and Rhoda Lee Brawner Eberhardt on June 10, 1954. He was the youngest of eleven siblings, five of which proceeded him in his homegoing, they include, Jeraldine Eberhardt Thompson, James H. Eberhardt Jr., Musette Eberhardt, John Eberhardt, and Larry Eberhardt. He was also proceeded in death by one
grandchild, Patrea Janise Eberhardt.

Honorable, devoted, loving, understanding, dependable, and above all God fearing; are only a fraction of the terms used to describe the man that God blessed us with. He was a willing vessel for God’s will and his actions aligned with the word of God. His ministry touched many, especially his family where any moment would turn into praise and worship. Anthony was full of the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord and strived daily to seek understanding according to the scriptures. Elder Eberhardt's mantra was to glorify God in all things and the Lord is my Shepherd.

Anthony was passionate about many things in life. He loved the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and watched the games faithfully. He was a masterful chef and created meals with love, whether in the kitchen or on the grill. His favorite beverage was “Diet Mountain Dew” with extra ice. His singing voice was like none other, and he used it to magnify the glory of the Lord. He had a passion for music of every genre. It was not uncommon to hear him randomly belt out a song at any given moment. He loved the teachings of Malcolm X and he read his autobiography multiple times. He loved working with Pam Allen, with the Black History Program, as well as the Colon Cancer Awareness Group. His presence would often encompass comforting and encouraging words of wise counsel and sound wisdom. He was loved by many and the impression he made on our lives will be everlasting. Heaven was truly his goal.

At the time of his homegoing, Elder Eberhardt was a member of Love in Action Christian Outreach Center under the leadership of Pastor Stacey Heard. He devoted his life to Christ at an early age, serving in many ministries including, Doves Creek Baptist Church of Elberton, GA, Holy Zion Holiness Church of Savannah, GA, Macedonia FBH Church of Elberton, GA, New Doves Creek Baptist Church of Elberton, GA, Citadel of Hope All Nations Christians Church of Elberton, GA, and Faith Worship Center of Elberton of GA.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 49 years Dr. Edna L. Eberhardt, his children, Sherell Denise Eberhardt, Anthony Rashad Eberhardt (Robin), Tyrone Antonio Turman, and Sr. Pastor Kevin Willis-Godson. His siblings; Bernice Neil, Nettie Eberhardt, both of Hempstead New York, Joe Eberhardt, Matthew Eberhardt, both of Baltimore Maryland, and Warren Eberhardt of Elberton, GA. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever. ~ Psalm 23:1-6
