Evelyn Burden Obituary

Evelyn’s Life Story

With heartfelt love and cherished memories, we honor the life of Evelyn Denise (Moon) Burden, who peacefully made her transition into eternal rest on November 28, 2025, at the age of 66.

Evelyn was born on August 29, 1959, to the late Arthur Alexander, Sr., and the late Mattie L. Moon. To know Evelyn was to know she had a fierce, unwavering spirit, she faced many obstacles throughout her life, but she never backed down; her loyalty and devotion to those she loved were truly unwavering.

At an early age, Evelyn joined Rock Spring C.M.E. Church, where she served faithfully in many roles throughout the congregation, including the Usher Board. Later in life, her spiritual journey led her to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she again served with dedication on the Usher Board and remained deeply involved with the youth department. She especially loved helping with the annual Easter Egg Hunt, a tradition she joyfully supported for many years.

Evelyn began her working career in manufacturing, dedicating many years to hard work and steadfast commitment. In her later years, she transitioned into the clerical field, a path that eventually led her to the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce. There, she infused every task with care, professionalism, and excellence, leaving a lasting impression on all who worked alongside her.

Evelyn was joined in Holy Matrimony to her caring, loving and devoted husband Bobby Burden on December 26, 2014. Their union brought a joy that was indescribable and clearly reflected the deep love they shared.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her aunt Willie Mae Bowens aka “Sweet Auntie Mae”.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her precious memories and a life well lived, her loving husband Bobby Burden; daughters Destani Clinton (Shaquille), and Jill Davis (Freddie); son Deldrin Moon (Timetria Hadden); grand girls Aurie, Amiyah and Amani Clinton, Kashina and Katrina Jones; soon coming grandson Jakobe Kier Moon; great grandchildren Keytrez Brown and Talasia Grant; sisters Angela Moon Jones, Tonya Renae Moon, Alexis Alexander and Jean Alexander; brothers Anthony Moon, Arthur Alexander, Jr., and Rickey Alexander; brother-in-love Ronnie Burden (Geraldine); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
