Mrs. Fannie Clara (Smith) Burden Parham was born April 19, 1940, to the late Mr. Willie Smith and the late Mrs. Cassie (Bolton) Smith in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. Clara was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Clara knew and professed Christ as her Savior and this led her to joining the Fork Creek Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years and was a dedicated member of the Ushers Board. Clara attended school in Oglethorpe County. Clara loved life and loved her family; her beautiful and radiant smile could warm your heart whenever you saw her.
Clara was first united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Booker T. Burden, Jr. and to this union seven children were born. She later met and united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Clinton D. Parham.
Without a whimper, sigh or moan, but quietly and serenely, Mrs. Fannie Clara (Smith) Burden Parham stepped briskly and calmly aboard the ship of Zion on Wednesday, March 5, 2025; as she waved farewell to us on this side she was greeted on the celestial shores by her parents; her husband Mr. Clinton Parham; her only brother Mr. Henry Wade Smith; her four children Ms. Gloria Mae Burden, Mrs. Edna Deloris Allen, Mrs. Sharon Bray and Mr. George Burden; and her stepdaughter Mrs. Patrica Pass; one grandson Mr. Codie L. Hughes.
Those who will forever cherish her memories are three sons Mr. Bobby (Evelyn) Burden, Elberton, GA, Mr. Ronnie (Geraldine) Burden, Carlton, GA, Mr. Chris (Camille) Parham, Pooler, GA; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; five sisters-in-law Fledia Burden, Colbert GA, Catherine Burden, Carlton, GA. Sylvia Parham, Comer, GA, Laquita Parham, Comer, GA, Carolyn Parham, Comer, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Funeral Service and Repass will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 12;00pm, located at Fork Creek Baptist Church - Carlton, GA.
