Mr. Franklin Anthony (Bro) Mattox, age 60, a loving brother and uncle passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024 after a gradual decline in health at the Callie and John Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
Mr. Franklin Anthony (Bro) Mattox was born August 7, 1963, in Hart County, Georgia to the late Loyd Mattox and Virginia (McCurry) Mattox.
At an early age he joined Maple Spring Baptist Church. Bro attended Hart County High School. He was employed at AutoZone in Lavonia, Georgia where he won the friendship of many co workers.
Anthony was very outgoing and loved his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, Lagretta (Almond) Mattox; his parents, Loyd and Virginia Mattox; his siblings, Wendell Mattox and Tammy (Mattox) Rucker.
Surviving relatives who will forever cherish his memories are his sisters, Ovella (Louis) Verdell, Hartwell, GA, Trish (David) Rucker, Atlanta, GA, Linda Davis, Hartwell, GA, Jean (Rob) Wilbon, Hartwell, GA; four aunts, Verlyn Martin, Sue Mitchell, Diane (Eugene) Smith, Mattie (Son) Williams; two uncles, Curtis (Venita) McCurry, James McCurry; two brothers-in-law, Jessie Rucker, Terry Almond; three sisters-in-law, Cathy Almond, Mary Wilkins, Darlene Neal; He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews along with a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 2:00pm, located at Maple Spring Baptist Church.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Maple Spring Baptist Church.
