Glynn Hoyt Pelfrey

Mr. Glynn Hoyt Pelfrey, age 67 departed from this walk of life to gain his Heavenly reward on August 23, 2024 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia.

Glynn was born in Athens, Georgia on June 2, 1957 to the late Mrs. Helen (PItts) Pelfrey and Mr. Robert C. Pelfrey.

Glynn was a master carpenter who would go out of his way to help others. He loved his dog Summer and he loved to go fishing and the Georgia Bulldogs. Glynn always loved to have fun. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Diane Zoe (Justice) Pelfrey.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Dara Doss; his sister, Teri Pelfrey Skelton; his two brothers, Dennis Pelfrey and Calvin Pelfrey; several nieces and nephews.

If someone should ask for me, tell'em heaven is where I'll be. I've finished all my life's chores, and now I fish on heaven's shore.

The view is grand and the fishing's great, but I yearn for you as I wait. I'll save a spot on the river's bend, for all those I call family and friend.

But for now, sail out to sea, and make a cast in memory, to all the good times from the past, so the memories will ever last.

And if the fish no longer bite or seem no longer worth the fight, because it's me that you are missing,

don't worry - be glad - I've only gone fishin'.

A private memorial service will be announced at a later date.
