Ms. Hazel Hunter Allen, age 82 of Hartwell, Georgia entered her eternal rest on Thursday January 11, 2024.
Life is a celebration of God's presence, his gift to love, to rejoice, and his gift to bless the lives of others as he commanded. Life is a blessing. It provides the opportunity to live, to breath, to wonder and desire, to bask in God’s glory, to feed with dreams the heart's perpetual light and fire, to thrill with the virtuous passion of righteousness and to know that in one's final hour of life, The depths and heights of the greatest love of all, God's love and to have lived in God's truth. This is the life that Hazel embraced and lived.
Hazel Hunter Allen was born June 16 1941, to the late Steve and Rosa Lee Hunter, in Lincolnton, GA. Hazel married the late Thomas Allen. Hazel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Hazel was a beloved member of the Church of Christ in Elberton, GA.
Hazel is preceded in death by two brothers: Columbus Hunter and Bennie Hunter. Two Sisters: Irene Hawkins and Mildren Johnson.
Hazel leaves to cherish her precious memories and her Children: Preston Allen, Wayne Allen, Linda Rucker, Shebby (Pete) Verdell, Jimmy "Mike" (Jonnie) Allen Grandchildren: Stevakeo (Tamara) Allen, Delanne (Daniel) Richardson, Deandra (O'Neal) Saddler, Jim (Kelsey) Allen, Gabriell (Aaron) Hester, Kim (Cortez) Bodie, Allen Rucker. Siblings: Jessie Lee Rucker, Jenny Rucker, Gladys Rucker, Mae Francis Rucker, Steve (Ruth) Hunter, Mamie Lou Allen, Cora Lee Hardman. Sister-In-Laws: Lena Oglesby, Doris Allen, Lois Dye, Sarah Hightower, Virginia (Curtis) Tinson, Inell Allen, Vernell Lowther and Hazel Allen. Brother-In-Law: Winston Allen. A host of 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 2:00pm, located at Norman Grove C.M.E. Church.
Interment Service will follow the funeral service at Norman Grove C.M.E. Church Cemetery.
