Hercules Teasley

Hercules Teasley age 83, of Bowman, Georgia, entered his eternal rest on Monday, December 26, 2022.

Hercules Teasley was born on April 22, 1939, to the late Mr. Kiser Teasley and Mrs. Rosie Wilkins Teasley. He and his 3 siblings lived with his grandmothers, Daisy Wilkins and Mary Teasley after their mother died. Their father married Martha Moss Teasley, and she helped raised them.

Hercules was charming, soft-spoken and had a smile you couldn’t forget. He was the life of the party! He loved to dress up in his own unique style and get on the dance floor and could dance to ANY song.

Hercules grew up on a farm picking berries, plums and cotton. He and his siblings were very close growing up. They would play marbles, horseshoes, and go visit their grandmother Daisy who would cook their favorite, sweet bread. His sister Sara said, “once Herc was scrambling eggs on the stove and she tired stirring them and that did not sit well with Herc.” His sister Clara said, she had long pretty hair when she was younger and when Herc got mad with her he would say, “Clara you ole yella head goat you.” Clara said in later years they enjoyed talking about the Lord when they chatted.

Hercules was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Norman Teasley. Parents, grandparents, a brother: Harper Teasley, and son: Billy McIntosh.

Hercules leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Martha (Charles) Allen of Colbert, GA; Brenda Teasley of Hartwell, GA; Linda (Robert) Allen of Elberton, GA. Sisters: Clara Jones of Gainesville, GA and Sara McIntosh of Bowman, GA. Long time special friend: Permelia Mack, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 3:30pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Interment Service will follow funeral service located at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
