Ira Cornelius ("Neil") Brown

Without a whimper, sigh or moan, but quietly and serenely, Mr. Ira C. "Neil" Brown stepped briskly and calmly aboard the ship of Zion on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. His name was checked by the celestial steward on deck, and he claimed his place among his Heavenly Father’s eternal dwellers. 

Ira Cornelius “Neil” Brown, born April 25, 1967, entered eternal rest on August 25, 2025, at the age of 58. He was a man deeply loved by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Neil was the beloved husband of Michelle Jernigan-Brown, who stood faithfully by his side in life and love. He was a devoted father to Cornelius Brown, Shirlana Brown, Imerria Brown, and Ikhereyah Brown, and a caring stepfather to Deanglo Pattman, Eric Jernigan, and Shanae Jernigan. His heart overflowed with joy as a grandfather to eleven beautiful grandchildren, and he cherished being surrounded by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Roshell Huff Brown and Edward Brown, as well as his brother Dougles Brown and sister Sherai Lee Henry. Neil leaves behind his siblings Cynthia Brown, Kenneth Brown, Billy Brown, and Charles Sapp, who will forever hold his memory close.

Neil’s life was marked by kindness, strength, laughter, and unwavering love for those he cared about. He was a man who never met a stranger, who lifted others up in times of need, and who left a legacy of compassion and resilience. His circle of friends was countless, each touched by his humor, wisdom, and generosity. He was a master mechanic and loved fishing. Though his time on earth ended too soon, Neil’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love, guidance, and laughter will continue to echo through his family for generations to come.

Neil’s journey reminds us that life is best lived in love, faith, and family. His legacy will never be forgotten.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 1:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 2:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
