Ivry Jean (Turman) Phillips

Ivry Jean Phillips, age 81 of Atlanta, Georgia formerly of Elberton, Georgia entered her eternal rest on Thursday June 01, 2023.

The soul of Mrs. Ivry Jean Phillips entered into eternal rest on Thursday June 1st , 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was such a loving person, whose kindness and friendliness brought out the best in everyone. Ivry spent her career as a nurse, caring and giving herself to others. It is, however, the rare mortal who can win the love and esteem of so many, and Ivry did just that. With her ready smile, Ivry endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact. She will be sorely missed by her loving family, and friends.

The daughter of the late Frank Turman and Ruby Tate Turman, Ivry was born in Elberton Georgia August 22 nd , 1941. Ivry was a 1960 graduate of Blackwell Memorial High in Elberton Georgia. She went on to attend Beauty School in Atlanta Georgia and completed her nursing degree in Dalton Georgia. She was baptized at a young age into fellowship with Cades Chapel Elberton, Georgia. And later moved that membership to New Hope Baptist Church in Dalton Georgia.

Preceding her in death are her parents. Frank Turman and Ruby Tate Turman. Two sisters, Mrs. Homerzell Turman Hughes of Elberton Georgia, and Mrs. Janie Turman Ware of Atlanta Georgia. One Son Benjamin Dudley Phillips of Dalton Georgia. Those left in wonderment on these earthly shores, to reflect on her memory are. A loving daughter, Delinda Phillips Hall, of Atlanta Georgia, two grandsons Christopher Justin Hall of Atlanta, Georgia and Logan Phillips of Dalton Georgia. One granddaughter Donnanessia Matthews of Atlanta Georgia. Two great-grands Mr. DeAnthony Taylor and Miss Zoie Pierre. Two Sisters Ms. Jewel Turman of Elberton Georgia, and Francis Norwood of Jacksonville, Florida. Four very special friends Diane Turman of Elberton Georgia, and Azalee Hood of Elberton, Georgia, Mr. Tony Revels of Elberton, and Coby Berry of Atlanta Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
