As the sun began to rise in the east on Saturday, April 5, 2025, the Lord in His wise providence carried the soul of Mr. James Tony Allen, from Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital to his eternal home.
James “Tony” Allen, age 65, of Elberton, Georgia, peacefully entered his eternal rest on the morning of April 5, 2025, at Piedmont Athens Regional.
Born on July 12, 1959, Tony was the second eldest child of the late James Allen Sr. and Mary Flossie Brawner Allen. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and son, Jermaine Maxwell.
To know Tony was to know a man who embraced life with unwavering love, a strong work ethic, and a deep joy in seeing his family together. He found inspiration in his father’s wisdom, often modeling his actions after him, and carried forward some of his values—especially the importance of family. His bond with his siblings brought him immense pride and loyalty throughout his life.
As the proud owner of Allen’s Construction & Vault Company, Tony was rarely seen without his signature company cap and ever-present smile. Whether cheering on his favorite sports teams, sharing his infectious smile, or walking with his signature stride. Tony left a lasting impression of strength, charisma, and distinction.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring memories. Tony is survived by his daughters: Beverly Allen (Sherwood), Shontorie Grimes, and Shamanda Allen, all of Elberton; Minister Brandi Robinson of Albany, Georgia; and Aliyah Allen of Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is also survived by his sons: Tony Allen of Elberton and Chad Allen (Sheiva) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His legacy continues through his five grandsons, eight granddaughters, and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Tony is lovingly remembered by his brothers: Danny E. Allen, Wilbur O. Allen, George O'Neal Clark Sr., and William Robertson (Charlene); sisters: Hedy Allen Jones (Jeffrey) and Jacqueline Robertson; two Paternal Aunts: Annie Jewel Hunter and Priscilla Johnson (Rev.
