Mr. James Brown, age 67, departed this life on Friday, July 5, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family in Elberton, Georgia.
Mr. James Brown was born on October 23, 1957, to the late Albert (Buster) Brown and Annie Laura (Heard) Brown in Elbert County, Georgia. James quietly passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at his residence.
James joined the Rose Hill Baptist Church at an early age in life. James attended Elbert County High School and was a member of the class of 1976. After school James knew that the bible said in 2nd Thessalonians 3:10; If a man will not work, he shall not eat; therefore, James began to work, and this led him to work in the granite industry until his retirement. James met and married the love of his life Linda Susan Burton, who he loved and cherished dearly until her passing.
James was a fun and loving man who always had a smile on his face. James was one who thought of others before thinking of himself and would do anything to help anybody.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda Susan (Burton) Brown; one daughter Michelle Burton; five sisters, Inell Brown, Mamie Lue Allen, Cora Lee Cureton, Estelle Calhoun, Lula Jane Teasley; four brothers, Charles Brown, Otis Heard, Edward (Rochelle) Brown, Albert Brown, Jr.; three brothers-in-law, Billy Fortson, Ricky Teasley, James Henry Burton.
James leaves to cherish his memories two sons, James (Leslie) Brown, Jr., Krege Burton; five grandchildren, Mia, Lena, Dylan, Andrew, Kenzlee; four sisters, Christine Fortson, Alice Teasley, Sonja Simpson, Beatrice Brown; one brother, Jimmy Brown; one uncle, Joe Louis Allen; four sisters-in-law, Josephine Brown, Margaret Brown, Dorothy (Joe) Hood, Winnie Mae Burton; three brothers-in-law, Robert Burton, Jr., Frank (Janie) Burton, Cad Gene Burton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:00pm, located at Rose Hill Baptist Church - Elberton Chapel.
Interment service will follow the funeral service at Downer's Grove Cemetery - Elberton, GA.
