James Robert Maxwell

It is with deep regrets that we announce the earthly transition of Mr. James Robert Maxwell of Hartwell, Georgia who suddenly slipped into eternity on Monday, March 23, 2026, in Seneca, South Carolina.

James Robert Maxwell, lovingly known as Robert, was born on September 9, 1969. He passed away leaving behind a lifetime of memories cherished by his family and friends. Robert attended Hart County High School, where he enjoyed playing both basketball and football. He carried that same energy and passion throughout his life, especially in the things he loved most—fishing, grilling, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and spending time with his family.

For several years, Robert dedicated his hard work to Thomas Concrete. He was known not only for his strong work ethic but also for his generous spirit. If you knew Robert, you knew he was someone who would help anyone in need without hesitation.

Robert had a personality that was truly unforgettable. When it came to his family, he was wonderfully dramatic and deeply caring. If a loved one was traveling, Robert would call every few minutes just to check on their progress. And if the trip was more than a couple of hours away, he would insist on driving them himself—unless work kept him away. His love showed up in every detail, big and small.

He was also known as the “master of the grill.” Robert never missed an opportunity to bring his grill to family cookouts, confident that no one could outcook him—and truthfully, no one ever did.

Robert leaves behind his loving sisters, Karen Grayble (Alonza), Tammy Hart, and Peggy Craft (Rod); his brothers, Michael Maxwell (Andrea) and Anthony Maxwell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever treasure his kindness, laughter, and unwavering love.

Robert’s legacy is one of generosity, devotion to family, and a life lived with heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 3:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel.
