Deacon James Willingham, age 82 of Elberton, Georgia entered his eternal rest on Monday, November 7, 2022.
Deacon James A. Willingham was born on April 4, 1940, to the late Sallie Sue Willingham and Actor Mattox. He leaves behind brother Cornell Mattox and joins his sister Shelia Willingham in eternal life.
James biggest joys in life were a word from God and his admiration for 18-wheeler trucks. James favorite verse from the bible was James 3: 2-5 ASV "For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also, the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things."
James is survived by his children: Caroyln Willingham-Durham, McKenny Willingham, DeVon Willingham, Jermaine Willingham, Corvades Willingham, Matthew Davis, Phillip Dubose, Denise Chisholm and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
