Janie was born in Elberton, Ga, on April 11th, 1951, as the middle daughter to the late James Curry and Lucille Bolden-Curry union. She was stunningly beautiful with a radiant smile, and Janie became the" life of the party" from the moment she learned to talk.
Janie graduated from Blackwell High School, studied at Atlanta Technical College, and went on to work as a dental assistant in her early years. She married Henry James Conley (who preceded her in death in 2013), in 1980 and they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where they raised four children. Janie later returned to Elberton, where she enjoyed traveling, cooking, watching movies, and loving on her family and friends. Along with her daughter Chamir, Janie was a loving and dutiful caretaker to her mother, Lucille, until her passing in December of 2018.
Janie's love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was displayed every day through her caring spirit and the helping hand she always extended to anyone in need. Janie peacefully took her last breath and journeyed on to meet her heavenly father on January 27th, 2021, at 1:32 PM, surrounded by her adoring children. She had waged a courageous fight against Covid-19.
Janie is survived by her daughters Bridgett Ladd, Chamir Conley; her sons Rimini and Keenen Conley; her brother, James Curry Jr. ; sister, Josephine Harper Langston, granddaughter, LaQuinta Henry as well as a host of beautiful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
