Janie Hall Obituary

Mrs. Janie Lois Watkins Hall answered God’s call home in the early hours on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at her residence. She was born June 23, 1944, in Elberton, Georgia to the late Mr. Robert Lee Watkins and the late Mrs. Lois Christine Downer. 

Janie was married to the late Mr. Curtis L. Hall for over 30 years, and to this union two children were born. She was a loving devoted wife, a loving caring mother, and a loving kind-hearted friend.

Janie’s early and formal educational years began at Blackwell Elementary School and Blackwell Memorial High School. She later attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. After attending college, she decided to move to New York to live for a short span of time. She later moved back to Georgia and worked within the Board of Education at the Elbert County Middle School as a loyal and dedicated bookkeeper for thirty-eight years.

Janie accepted Christ at an early age. She remained a faithful member and servant at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 17, 2022, at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Elberton, Georgia.

Interment will be in the Lincoln Heights Cemetery, Elberton, Georgia.

Mrs. Hall will be placed in the church at 1:00 pm Friday, until hour of service.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at Mack’s Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elberton, Georgia.

Janie will live in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her most of all: son, Michael Hall, Elberton, Ga; daughter, Mrs. Tammy Johnson, Royston, Ga; son-in-law, Fontain Johnson, Royston, Ga; five sisters, Ms. Carolyn Teasley, Elberton, Ga; Mrs. Patricia (Alvin) Dye, Athens, Ga; Mrs. Stella (Mitchell) Brown, Warner Robins, Ga; Mrs. Gwendolyn ( Eddie) Chennault, Decatur, Ga; Ms. Angela Downer, Fairburn, Ga.; four grandchildren, Rakheem Hall, Reona Hall, Aniyah Hall, and Omikeon Hall; she also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
