Jerodean White

Jerodean White, age 80, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, formally of Elberton, Georgia, entered her eternal rest September 8, 2022.

Affectionately known as Mom, Mom-Mom, Gramps, Granny, Aunt Dean and Big Mom-Mom to those who knew and loved her. Jerodean was born to the late Eva Lois Hughes Hunt and Oliver Burton in Dewy Rose, GA on February 22, 1942.

She was last survivor of 4 siblings who proceeded her in death, which included Jimmy Burton, Linda, De Jesus and Ondre Hunt. She received her primary education in Elberton, GA. Afterwards she relocated to Philadelphia, PA where she graduated from Bok Technical High School. 

Jerodean was joined in Holy Matrimony to Marvin Delano Sr. on December 25, 1959. From this union seven children were born: Joanne, Marvette, Felicia, Marvin Jr., Angelique and Troy. A baby girl Sonia Denis died in infancy.

Jerodean was employed by PennWax for 20 years and then the internal Revenue Services until her retirement. She received the Albert Gallatin award twice which was a rare occasion.

Jerodean was a very kindhearted woman who was always known to be fashionably dressed and could also be very “sharp” with her words.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Mack’s Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elberton Chapel located at 320 College Ave. Elberton, Georgia.

Interment in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery 1589 Brewers Mill Elberton, Georgia.

Public visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at Mack’s Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elberton Chapel.

She leaves to cherish those fine memories sister in laws: Robin Hunt, Alberta Furson, and Diane Burton. Brother in laws: Pelipe DeJesus, Albert “Balum” White and York “Sunny” White. Children: JoAnne Burton, Marvette (Timothy) Shanks, Felicia (Glenn) Davis, Marvin Jr. (Nicole) White, Angelique Wade and Troy (Monique) White. Grandchildren: Khiana (Jason) Gilbert, LaShonah White, Kareemah (Rodney) Manick, Timyda Willis, James Manick, Timiothy Shanks Jr., Da’Shea (William) Poston, Antoine Wade, Bysherah (Akeem) Burton, Yahnee’ (Timothy) Gober, Glenn Davis Jr., preceeded her in death, Malika (Lorne) White, Tasheana “Jerodean White, Amber Davis, Laneika (Daenesha) Edens, Troy D. White, Myneisha Wade, Ayanna Blanding, Jalil Wade, Marviin White III, Marquis White, Diamond Price and Mylan White. 41 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
