John L. Geter

Mr. John L. Geter, age 80 of Hartwell, Georgia entered his eternal rest Tuesday, November 07, 2023. 

Mr. John “Pat” Linzey Geter was born on June 25, 1943, to the late Henry and Nina Lee Rucker Geter. He entered into eternal rest on November 7, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, South Carolina. 

John attended Hart County Training School. He was an avid fisherman until his health began to decline. John enjoyed attending Hart County basketball and football games. He also loved to watch the Atlanta Braves, Hawks, Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass, after retirement he worked at Hart County Pre-K.

John was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Nina Lee Geter. Siblings: Jessie Ruth Mattox, Margaret Dade, Albert Geter, Eugene Geter, Robert Geter, James Thomas Geter and Carolyn Fuller.

John leaves to cherish his memories: Wife: Louise Geter. Daughters: Linda Geter, Samantha Walker, Eureka Geter. Son: Anthony (Veronica) Rucker, Bonus Daughters: Rosa Durrett, Donna Jones, Tammie Carter. Sisters: Dorothy Parris & Gail Geter. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Special friends: George Vandiver, Dennis Martin and Michael Carter.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 12:00pm, located at Ruckers Grove Baptist Church. 

Interment Service will follow the funeral service at Ruckers Grove Baptist Church.
