Joseph Leon White

Mr. Joseph Leon White, owner and proprietor of Bank's Bar-B-Que made his transition on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia.

Leon was born on May 28, 1960, in Elberton GA to the Late Mary Agnes White and the late Thomas Lee Banks.

Leon attended Elbert County High School and was a member of the class of 1978. Leon was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Elberton GA. Leon worked many years with the railroad company, and later began working in the business with his father and he enjoyed operating Banks Bar-B-Que and fishing.

On November 15, 2024, God sent his angel for Leon and reunite him with his parents. Other relatives preceding him were his Grandmother Bessie Sims Anderson; Sisters Mary Jean Fortson and Angela Banks and his beloved Grandson Andricus Henderson.

He leaves behind to cherish memories Sons: Angelo Henderson (Elberton GA), Terrell (Sherika) Henderson (Elberton GA); Daughters: Sabrina Hayes (Elberton GA), Natosha Downer (Port Royal, SC), Crystal Gaines (Athens GA); Seven Grandchildren: Laquansala Bowman, Asja Henderson, AnJarius Henderson, Stashauna Portis, Anyla Thornton, Skylar Henderson, Noah Allen and Elijah Allen Two Greatgrandchildren: Angel Teasley and Nevaeh Walker (all of Elberton GA); Sisters: Helen (Yoland) White Jones (Athens GA), Minnie (Gary) Banks Andrews (Athens GA), Calissa (Sam) Banks Jones (Athens GA), Doris Nell Banks Mason (Atlanta, GA), Theodocia Banks Willis (Elberton GA); Brothers: Torry Starks (Jonesboro, GA), Joe Starks (Athens, GA), Timothy White (Jonesboro, GA),  Thomas Lee Banks (Augusta GA); Uncle: Paul Banks (Atlanta Ga); Aunts: Joann Anderson (Athens Ga), Winona Smith (Athens GA), Louise Banks White (Atlanta GA); a host of other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
