Joseph "Jody" Lee Hall

Jody Hall, age 63 of Elberton, Georgia entered his eternal rest Saturday, January 07, 2023.  

Joseph Lee Hall better known as Jody was born in Anderson South Carolina to the late Joe Louis Hall and Peggy Hall on January 28, 1959. He lived in Starr South Carolina until he graduated from Crescent High School in 1977.  Afterwards he moved to Elberton Georgia with his wife Durnice in 1978 where he resided until his homegoing. 

While in Elberton he drove trucks for Darica for 15 years, he then worked at Pilgrim’s Pride in the Maintenance Department for 21 years. Not only was Jody the President of Concerned Men of Elberton, but he was also well known and loved in the community. 

Jody was passionate about fishing especially with his wife and grandkids. He hosted many gatherings at home and away because he loved to cook for his family and friends. He would never turn down a request from anyone who asked him to cook for them. Everyone knew Jody would do whatever he could for anyone. There were two places you could find Jody, on the front porch playing solitaire while in his rocking chair or in the backyard working on something, he always had to stay busy. 

Jody was a loving husband to Durnice (Dubose) Hall for 45 years and into this union he leaves behind his daughter Letonya (David) Roberts, his son Jodonyae (Wildig) Hall, and his godson Lamar aka Keith (Claudria & kids) Hardman. Six grandsons, Darian Veal; Jeremiah Roebuck; Cristian, Jamaze, Matthew, and Joseph Hall. One granddaughter, Arianna Hall. He was the second oldest of 10 children - four brothers, Leon Heard; Marlon Richardson; Charles and Terrence Hall. Four sisters - Sandra (John) Armstrong; Gwannettia (Chris) Johnson; Felicia and Faye Hall. Jody also had four cousins who were raised as siblings, Lydia Heard; Theresa (Harry) Zellars; Bernard and Kevin Simmons and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, an aunt and other family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by one sister Gwendolyn Maria Hall and his favorite Uncle Willie June Heard. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1:00pm, located at First Baptist Church of Elberton. 

Interment will be held at Lincoln Heights Cemetery following the funeral service.
