May we take comfort in knowing there is one more angel above us, Mrs. Josephine (Smith) Stoddard peacefully departed this life on August 12, 2024, at Saint Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, Georgia.
Ms. Josephine Stoddard was born on May 3rd ,1954 in Hartwell, GA to the late Sam Smith and Bobbie Lois Smith Rowe. She went to be with her Lord peacefully on Monday, August 12th ,2024. Josephine loved her children, grandchildren and family. She leaves a great legacy to follow, and the family has many memories to cherish.
She attended Hart County Training School. She worked many years at Johnson & Johnson until she retired.
She was a member of Maple Spring Baptist Church, attended faithfully and served on the Usher’s Ministry. In the community she participated with Sharing and Caring Outreach Ministry – Food Bank.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy Richard Stoddard; her brother, Jerome Smith, sister-in-law Virginia Smith and grandson, AJ Goss.
She leaves to cherish her fond and precious memories: her children, Danny (Debbie), Brawner, Stacy (Veronica) Brawner, Tara (Stacy) Jones, and Crystal Arnold. Her stepchildren: Kelvin Hailstock, Erica (Mims) Camm, Wendi (Jermaine) Boston, Natalie Thomas, Ricky (Cicily) Stoddard and Ashley Ballentine. Her twenty-six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her siblings: Jackie (Kenneth) Hawkins, Jeweline Heard, Douglas Smith, Carolyn Morris, Kenny Smith, Tracy Smith, Diane Smith and Darlene (Travis) Partlow. Her aunt Alma Jean Strange. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel from 12:00 - 5:00pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, located at Maple Spring Baptist Church at 2:00pm.
Interment service will follow the funeral service at Maple Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will begin receiving friends of the community starting Wednesday at 2:00pm at the home of Mrs. Stoddard at 316 Daniel St., Royston, GA 30662.
