But we are confident and have a good will to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Mrs. Julia Mae (Jones) McCord age 86 peacefully made her transition from her home in the Nuberg Community, on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Mrs. Julia Mae (Jones) McCord, age 86 of Dewy Rose, Georgia made her transition from her earthly home to her eternal home on July 18, 2024.

Julia McCord was born on September 24,1937, to the late Luther and Janie Jones. Julia attended Hart County Training School. She later retired from Hartwell Company where she learned the skill of sewing. Which, led to her passion of being a seamstress, because of her passion she was able to foster relationships which made her a staple in the community. She took great pride in her work at the local McDonalds. Until the declining of her health, she was an active member of Christian Worship Assembly serving on the usher board for over forty years.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas E. McCord Sr., brother Rufus Jones, Daughter Sylvia McCord-Craft, Stepson Thomas Rayton, Grandson Sanford McCord, and Granddaughter Tigee McCord.

She leaves to cherished fond memories with her children: Janie Blackwell of Elberton, Ga; Joycie Biu, Betty McCord, and Thomas (Tracey) McCord Jr, all of Dewy Rose, Ga; and Michael (Tammy) McCord of Mrytle Beach, Sc. Raised in the home Mary (Brian) Rucker of Hartwell, GA. Her brothers; Arthur Jones, Roger Jones, and Sharon Jones; sister Mary Gunby. She also leaves behind 22 Grandchildren, 53 Great-Grandchildren, 14 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family are receiving family and friends of the community at 317 Parks Brown Rd., Dewy Rose, GA.

Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 3:00pm, located at Christian Worship Assembly - Hartwell, GA. 

Interment service will follow the funeral service at Christian Worship Assembly - Hartwell, GA.
