Karen L. (Allen) Fortson

Ms. Karen Fortson, age 64 of Hartwell, Georgia entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Karen L. Fortson was born on July 17, 1959 to the late Addie Sue Allen. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She departed this life on July 19, 2023. She attended Hart County High School in 1977. Karen worked for a short period, then devoted her life to being a homemaker.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Earnest L. Fortson, her mother Addie Sue Allen, her brother Gary Allen, and her sister Peggy Allen.

She leaves to mourn her children: Taunje (Andre) Watson of Augusta, Georgia. Millicent (Marvin) Dean of Elberton, Georgia. Carlos Fortson of Hartwell, Georgia. Shae Fortson of Elberton, Georgia. Dontae Fortson of the home and his special friend (Rheanna Ankerich). Sisters: Gloria Wall, Lisa, Leslie and Wanda Rankin all of Hartwell, Georgia. Sister-In-Law: Linda Allen, Elva Daniel, and Mary Wilkins all of Hartwell, Georgia. Freda Harper of Elberton, Georgia and Virginia Bolden of Bowman, Georgia. Brother-In-Laws: Thomas (Patricia) Fortson and Richard (Dianne) Fortson of Bowman, Georgia. Melvin (Betty) Fortson of Elberton, Georgia. Twenty-Eight Grandchildren, Eighteen Great Grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 2:00pm, located at Holly Springs Baptist Church. 

Interment will follow funeral service at Holly Springs Baptist Church.
