Heaven welcomed another faithful servant. Kathleen was born on August 5, 1957, in Hart County, Georgia, the ninth child to the late L. D. Johnson and Rye Mary Dubois Johnson, and entered eternal rest on April 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital, Athens, Georgia.
She joined New Hope Hart Church at an early age and later became a devoted member of Holy Calvary MRF Church, where she remained active for more than 50 years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed working puzzles and coloring artfully. But her love for singing was rooted deeply in her faith and was most evident in church, where she joyfully lifted her voice in praise!
She dedicated over 30 years of service to Brown Health & Rehabilitation in Royston, GA, working as the Environmental Services Supervisor.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Rachel Neal; two brothers Willie Ralph. Johnson; Sylvester Johnson; Sister: Brenda Joyce Johnson and foster brother Jeffrey Glenn Starks.
She is survived by two daughters and one son – Tia Shantara Neal; Erica Denise Thomas (Lavonia, GA); Broderick Neal (Lavonia, GA). Three brothers and two sisters – L.J Johnson (Mary) – Hartwell, GA; Bishop Jimmy Johnson (Sallye) – Lavonia/Stone Mountain, GA; Bobby Ray Johnson (Lavonia, GA), Betty Thornton (Rev. Eddie) of Bowersville, GA and Mary L. Blackwell of Lavonia, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will sadly miss her. She also leaves behind a very “special” friend Billy Frank Williams.
Kathleen will be remembered by her incredible legacy for all to use as an example to follow. Endless laughs and many stories to tell. We will miss you and THANK YOU for the Memories!
