Kenya Davis Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected transition of Mrs. Kenya Laquilla (Harper) Davis, affectionally known as "Ken-Ken" at her home in Athens, Georgia on July 24, 2024.

On September 27, 1981, in Royston, Georgia a beautiful bundle of joy was born to the union of Cynthia (Harper) Harper and the late Curtis Harper, Senior and they named her Kenya Laquilla Harper.

Affectionally known as Ken-Ken, she began her education in the Elbert County School District where she won the friendship of many of her peers, and later Oconee County High School where she completed her education.

Kenya was a loving person, who enjoyed reading poetry; fishing and she loved wearing her jewelry. She was God sent and he gave her a talent to be a poet therefore she wrote many poems that will be cherished the rest of our lives.

On July 24, 2024, God summoned the Angel of death to carry her soul from this life, where she was reacquainted with her father Curtis Harper, Senior; grandparents Cynthia Harper, Robert Phelps, L. H. Harper; Uncle Luther K. Harper; aunts Henrietta Harper, Wendy Phelps Rucker; God brother Demetrius Bone.

Those left behind to hold to her memories are her mother Cynthia (Paul) Harper Kelley; children Tydreakis Harper, Shamila Harper, Qaderrick Henderson, Malik Rogers, Atavion Langston, Avery Langston, Jr., Kurtasia Langston, Makel Langston, Messiah Langston; seven grandchildren; sisters Shekela (Wesley) Usher, Shanta (Eddtrick) Ransom; brothers Curtis Harper, Sardains Harper, Brandon (Gabrielle) Willis; grandmother Laura Mae Harper; aunts Jeri Bolden, Lizzie Bone, Jackie (Ben) Willis, Laura Brawner, Betty Potts; great aunts Betty (Charlie) Jones, Lula Johnson, Mozelle Hill; uncles Corey Phelps, James Phelps, Dallas (Janice) Phelps; great uncle Adam (Addie) Heard; godparents Thomas Bone, Lizzie Bone; god brother Omar S. Bone; God aunts Renee Fortson, Annette McCray; play brother Jerry Turman; she also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
