Lindberg Glaze

Mr. Lindberg Glaze, age 83 of Elberton, Georgia entered his eternal rest on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Mr. Lindberg Glaze was born in Wilkes County, GA on October 31, 1939, to the late Mrs. Terry Lee Coleman Glaze and the late Mr. Frank Collins Glaze, Sr. He is preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Estelle Glaze Hudson.

He was a faithful, faithful and dedicated Deacon and member of Cades Chapel Baptist Church for numerous years until his health declined. With a 4 the grade education he accomplished a legacy that will live on formerly Glaze Tires and Repair Service and the business was passed down to his grandson which is now known as RG Tires and Repair Service. He served Elbert County and many surrounding counties. He taught his sons, grandsons, several nephews, brother, one daughter and cousin; he gave everybody a chance who wanted to learn.

He loved his family and friends, and he always told us, “Don’t’ take no wooden nickels” and he loved to say BANG! BANG! Lindberg was well known and loved by everyone that met him he would flash that Gold Teeth smile.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Mrs. Gertha Lee Glaze; six children, Cherlyn (Anthony) Bowman of Athens, GA, Jerry (Patsy) Glaze of Elberton, GA, Terry (Clarence) Mahoney of Elberton, GA, Darrell (Ursula) Glaze of Anderson, SC, Doris Fortson of Elberton, GA, Norris (Mary) Glaze of Anderson, SC; five brothers, Howard Glaze, Dennis Glaze, Frank Glaze, Jr., Herman (Jewel) Glaze, Joe (Dianna) Glaze all of Elberton, GA; four sisters, Fannie Hill of Athens, GA, Ruby (Michael) Campbell of Atlanta, GA, Laura (Alton) Downer of Elberton, GA, Vernell Glaze of Elberton, GA; three sisters in law, Betty Riden of Elberton, GA, Lois Allen of Elberton, GA, Wilhelmina Allen of Hartwell, GA; four brothers in law, James (Jasper) Allen of Elberton, GA, John Henry Allen of Bridgeport, CT, Eddie (Josephine) Allen of Elberton, GA, Jackie (Bettina) Allen of Elberton, GA; grandson of the home, Brian Gaither; goddaughters, Sonja Mattox Simpson, Tabitha Rambert; seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 2:00pm, located at Love and Action Christian Outreach Center. 

Interment will follow the funeral service at Lincoln Heights Cemetery - Elberton, Georgia.
