Lois (Watson) Baker

Mrs. Lois (Watson) Baker was born in Elberton, Georgia to the late Mr. Sylvester Watson and Mrs. Martha Callaway Cleveland on February 8, 1927. Mrs. Baker, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 30, 2024, at her home in Marietta, GA.

At an early age, Mrs. Baker accepted the Lord as her Savior. She was a Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church member in Marietta, GA, where she served on the Mother Board. Mrs. Baker worked as a Presser at “Charlie’s Dry Cleaners” for many years. She was married to the late Walter Leroy Baker. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her sister, Tommie Mae Faust, two brothers Frank Turman, Raymond Brown, and one nephew Albert Brown. Even though she did not have any children, she loved and cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.

Mrs. Baker leaves precious memories to cherish with two brothers, Mr. Bennie Richard Cleveland of Indian Trail, NC, Mr. Isaac Von (Nancy) Cleveland of Greensboro GA, six nieces, Mrs. Delores B. Hall, Mrs. Joann (Timothy) McLendon, Mrs. Edith (Stanley) Allen, Ms. Martha Ann Faust, Ms. Patsy Ann Faust, Ms. Linda Faust, of Elberton, GA. five nephews, Mr. Thurmond (Violet) Brown, Mr. Jimmy (Gwen) Hunt, Mr. Robert Lee (Sandy) Brown, of Marietta, GA; Mr. John Fred Brown of Hartwell, GA; two sister in laws, Mrs. Aggie Jo Turman, Mrs. Roberta Baker of Elberton, GA and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Baker will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Mack's Funeral Home of Elberton, 320 College Ave, Elberton, GA 30635. Viewing will take place beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Martin Grove Baptist Church 1695 Old Middleton Rd. Elberton, GA 30635.
