M.C. Sanders

Mr. M. C. Sanders, age 83 of Calhoun Falls, South Carolina entered his eternal rest on Monday, July 17, 2023.

M.C. Sanders, was born March 13, 1940, in Elberton, Georgia, to the late Lou Ella Grant and John Sanders. But raised by his aunt Rena Bryant. He was educated at St. Mary in Mt. Carmel, and McCormick County School System. The majority of M.C.'s life was enjoyed in Calhoun Falls, S.C. where he met and married Margaret Thomas-Sanders. 

When he was about the age of twenty-five, he joined Glover A.M.E. Church. As a member of Glover A.M.E. Church he sung with the male choir, especially when they traveled to others places to minister in songs. Later he would join the Five Stars, a gospel quartet group where he sung for fifty years. 

He was employed as a truck driver and later he later worked with several companies and independent concrete finisher. His greatest joy was when he could sing for the Lord. 

M.C. was preceded in death by his parents, three brother, Billy, Charles and Lewis and one sister Willie Mae, his sons: Michael Christ Tolden, Eric Sanders, and daughter Suzanne (Ross) Harris. 

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: Margaret Sanders of Calhoun Falls, S.C. Six children: Fernando (Francess) Sanders, Danny (Betty) Sanders, Harriet (Bishop Johnnie) McGee, all of Calhoun Falls, S.C., Jacqueline Sanders of Sunnvvale, California, Felicia (Willie) Pam Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia, Joanne Thomas of Anderson, S.C. (Raised), sisters: Lola (Hoyt) Hester, Milledgeville, GA, Rummell Hester of Knoxville, Tennessee, Willie Lorraine (Elder James) Allen of Knoxville, Tennessee, Rosa DuBose of Atlanta, Georgia, Christine Flantroy of Atlanta, Georgia. Brother Eddie Sanders of Elberton, Georgia, Brother-In-Laws: Henry Lee (late Sarah) Thomas of Calhoun Falls, S.C. Marshal (Ann B) Thomas of Calhoun Falls, S.C. Sister-In-Laws: Parnice (late Fred) Harris of Calhoun Falls, S.C., Grace (late Paul) Thomas, Henrietta (late Lewis) Grant, of Greenwood S.C., Pearlie Mae Bryant (late Billie) Anderson, S.C. and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, the Five Stars, fans and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 2:00pm, located at Glover A.M.E. Church - Calhoun Falls, South Carolina. 

Interment service will follow the funeral service at Glover A.M.E. Church - Calhoun Falls, South Carolina.
