Mamie Sue (Reed) Hood

Mamie Sue (Reed) Hood, age 62 of Bowman, Georgia departed from this walk of life to gain her Heavenly reward on Friday, June 7, 2024, in at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Georgia.

Mamie Hood was born on June 4, 1962, to Tom Reed and Mary Neil McCalla, God called her from suffering to eternal peace and happiness on June 7, 2024. She attended Elbert County High School. She was employed at Northeast Ga Monument.

She was united to Michael Hood and in this union three children were born.

Mamie was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers, and husband Michael Hood.

She leaves to cherish fond memories with her children: Michael T. Hood of Statham, GA, Christopher D. Hood of Oldtown, Maine, Ernest T. Hood of Athens, GA. Siblings: Patricia Ann Teasley and Delois Teasley of Bowman, GA. Daughter-in-law: Alicia L. Hood. Brother-in-law: Danny L. Teasley of Bowman, GA. Grandchildren: Ty’Keria I. Starks and Mariah K. Hood of Athens, GA, Brianna and Terrell Hood of Oldtown, Maine & Isaiah and Nivea Hood of Athens, GA. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 1:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
