Margaret White Obituary

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, just as the date was coming into existence, in the stillness of darkness, the Lord in his great wisdom dispatched his angels to the home of Mrs. Margaret Theresa (Jennings) White to quietly carry her to her new heavenly home.

Margaret Theresa Jennings White was born the fifth of six children to the late Norman C. and Beulah L. Jennings, Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on Saturday, August 30, 2025 into the loving arms of our Lord.

She was baptized at St Pius V Catholic Church, in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her early education at St. Catherine’s Academy and later graduated from Carver High School. She studied cosmetology at Carver High School and worked as a hair stylist for many years. She met and married Townsend Parsons, Sr. and from that union they had three children Townsend, Jr., Brenda and Berita. Townsend, Jr. and Brenda died at birth. In 1960, Margaret and Townsend, Sr. departed ways to live different lives.

She joined the church choir at St. Pius V and became the president serving over 10 years. She thoroughly enjoyed leading the choir. She became a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John chapter #219. Margaret loved to make her popular crab cake and cornbread for the Lenten season. She participated in the Mardi Gras celebration and jazz nights at the church.

Margaret changed careers, only doing hair styling during the weekends. She began working at Johnnycake High Jr. High School as a custodian. She counseled and guided various students who were troubled and was the alternate Chief Custodian in emergencies. She retired after thirty dedicated years. She gathered clothing for families in need.

On September 30, 1989, Margaret Theresa Parsons married Johnnie D. White. They relocated to Dewy Rose, Georgia and built a beautiful new home. They loved to travel together. They lived happily together for 15 years before he passed away. Margaret joined Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hartwell, Georgia. She found many dear friends, especially during CHIRP Retreats.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her daughter Berita Parsons; nephews Harrison (Sharon) Greene, David (Debbie) Green, Rudy (Kelly) Curry, Rodney Curry, Melvyn (Frankie) Gray, Drew (Stacie) Morrison, Lloyd Morrison, Bryan Morrison, Ruth Branford, and a host of relatives and friends.
