Mrs. Margie Ree Allen Morrison, age 93 peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in Athens, GA.
Margie Ree was born on July 17, 1930 in Elberton, Georgia to the late Harrison and Lula (Cleveland) Allen. She was married to the late Eddie Morrison, Jr. for fifty-two years and to this union eight children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Morrison; children, Dorothy Morrison, Christine Morrison and Donald Morrison; siblings Bessie Mae Davis, Bertha Mae Harper, Corrine Allen, Willie Allen, Roosevelt Allen and Albert Allen.
She lived a long full life, walking in God’s love reflecting the beauty of the father above. A great woman whose deeds in faith and love will continually be a pillar of strength. Margie was a model of love, compassion and generosity. She was a cook, housekeeper, teacher, nurse, security, coordinator, supervisor, manager, secretary, nutritionist, caretaker, life coach, bookkeeper, laundry maid and taxi driver. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, attending church, listening to gospel music, singing, wearing hats and preparing meals for her family. She not only loved her family but she shared her love abroad.
Margie Ree Morrison leaves to carry her legacy her children, Murray (Lenora) Morrison, Barbara Carpenter, Vera Morrison, Deborah Morrison all of Elberton, GA, Kerry (Maria) Morrison of Austell, GA; twenty grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; siblings, Elder James (Lorraine) Allen of Knoxville, TN and Mildred Dupree of Decatur, GA; sisters-in-law, Everlena Allen of Knoxville, TN, Frances Allen of Elberton, GA; a special nephew, Mr. Hamp Coleman, Jr of Elberton, GA; a special friend, Lois Tate of Elberton, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 3:00pm, located at Rose Hill Baptist Church - Elberton, GA.
Interment Service will follow the funeral service at Rose Hill Baptist Church - Elberton, GA.
