Just as the date Friday, April 11, 2025, began the windows of Heaven opened and received the soul of Mrs. Marilyn (Lewis) Dempsey, as the Angels welcomed her to her eternal home.
Mrs. Marilyn (Lewis) Dempsey, age 67 passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born on January 29, 1958, in Elberton, Georgia to the union of the late Hezekiah and Zelma (Dubose) Lewis.
Marilyn believed in nurturing and helping others, this led her to working at Elbert Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse until her retirement.
Marilyn enjoyed watching the ID channel, cooking, baking and taking care of others.
Those who will miss her dearly but cherish her memories are her husband of forty-three years Tony Dempsey of the home; daughter Christy Lewis of Augusta, GA; her two sisters Yvette L. Staley of Lithonia, GA, and Kelly Lewis of Elberton, GA; her one and only brother Roderick Lewis of Elberton, GA; her two nieces Santana Lewis of Elberton, GA, and Naziyah Lewis of Hull, GA; her only nephew Melvin Staley of Lithonia, GA; her great niece and nephew (more like her grandchildren) Armonii Davis and Rafael Davis, Jr. of Elberton, GA; her two uncles Raymond (Geneva) Lewis and Tom Bell Lewis both of Gainesville, GA; her aunt Elma Blackwell of Gainesville, GA; she also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends to forever cherish her memories.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 3:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm, located at Tates Grove Baptist Church - Elberton, GA.
