Martha Morrison Obituary

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life; He that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Mrs. Martha (Brown) Morrison departed this life on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at her residence in the Sardis Community.

Mrs. Martha Brown Morrison was born on July 6, 1944, in Hartwell, Georgia, to the late George C. and Ina Sadler Brown. At an early age, she became a devoted member of St. James CME Church. She attended Hart County Training School and was a proud member of the Class of 1963.

Martha worked for NVF for many years and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She had an infinite love for gardening, flowers, fishing, cooking, Hallmark Christmas movies, and, most of all, spending quality time with her friends and loved ones. Her radiant love and warmth touched everyone she encountered, including the children in the neighborhood, whom she embraced as her own.

She was united in marriage to the late George F. Morrison, and together they raised a loving family that included four children: The late Jeff Brown, Timothy (Peggy) Morrison, Derrick Morrison, and Valerie Morrison, all of Hartwell, Georgia.

She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Latisha (Jermiah) Garrison, Timdravious Morrison of Pendleton, South Carolina, and Zayda Clark-Zsarmani of Duluth, Georgia.

Her legacy continues through five great-grandchildren: Ladavius Dye, Kimorah Young, Aarian Garrison, Alora Garrison, all of Buford, Georgia, and Jasmine Crawford of Nashville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Martha was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George C. and Ina Sadler Brown; her husband, George Frank Morrison; siblings: Hazel Teasley, Catherine Stowers, Joyce Partlow, and Joel Brown; great-grandson, JaKarri Blackwell; and niece, Carolyn Smith. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, family, and friends.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her deep faith, and her joy in life’s simple pleasures. And when asked how she was doing, her gentle and familiar reply was always, “I’m pretty good.”
