Mary Martha McCan

Mary McCan, age 75 of Royston, Georgia entered her eternal rest on Sunday, April 09, 2023.

Mrs. Mary Martha Brown McCan was born January 23, 1948, in Hart County, Ga. To the late Mrs. Rebecca Hill and Mr. Shedd Brown Sr. She departed this life on April 9, 2023, at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart in Lavonia, Ga. Surrounded by family and friends.

She was a dedicated Jehovah Witness and attended Kingdom Hall in Lavonia and attended Hart County High School.

Mrs. Mary was married to Mr. William Thomas McCan and to this union four children were born. Three sons, William, Mike, Terry, and a daughter Mary Helen McCan who all proceeded her in death. Mrs.Mary was also proceeded in death in addition to her parents and children, one sister Mrs. Lillian Wilkins, and four brothers, Mr. Willie Brown, Mr. Shedd Brown Jr, Mr. Milton Brown, and Mr. Tracy Brown.

She was employed by TNS Cotton Mill for many years until she retired due to health reasons. Those who knew Mrs. Mary knew she was a hard worker and would help anyone in need. Mary also had a great sense of humor. Mrs. Mary was a loving mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are three sisters:  Mrs. Margie Geter, and Rebecca Brown of Royston, Ga. Ms. Nobie Brown of Canon, Ga. One brother: Travis (Janice) Brown of Canon, Ga. One Grandson: D’Amato McCan of the home. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13th, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm located at Mack's Funeral Home - Hartwell Chapel. 

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 14th, 2023, at 2:00pm located at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. 

Interment will follow the funeral service at Rose Hill Cemetery - Royston, Georgia.
