Mrs. Nelcenia Jones, age 73 of Elberton, Georgia entered her eternal rest Saturday, March 11, 2023.
Mrs. Nelcenia White Jones was born on January 8, 1950, to the late Lily Bell Easley and Willie White, Jr. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a graduate of Blackwell Memorial High School Class of 1969.
Nelcenia married George Jones, her high school sweetheart, on September 4, 1965. While building a happy home and raising a family, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and healthcare provider. Nelcenia worked at various healthcare facilities such as Heardmont Nursing Home and Health Masters Home Health Care for more than 30 years until her retirement. She loved cooking, enjoyed crossword puzzles, beautifying her yard with colorful flowers, and talking about her grandkids. And, she could shop for days!
Nelcenia was preceded in death by her parents; three (3) brothers: Percy Smith, Alfred Smith, and Willie Moore; two (2) sisters: Doris Isom and Sheila Rucker; and her fur-baby Coco.
Nelcenia was an amazing woman who was loved by all. She is survived by her daughter Shelma Jones of Elberton, GA; her son Kelvin Jones and daughter-in-love Tonya Montgomery-Jones of McDonough, GA; seven (7) grandchildren; three (3) siblings: Johnnie Ann Perrin – Elberton, GA; Sharon Dubose (Eric) – Hull, GA; Anthony White – Elberton, GA; three (3) siblings-in-law: Mae Reid Moore, Larry Isom, and Norris Rucker all of Elberton, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family; as well as her new fur-baby Snowflake; her life-long friend Ms. Eva McLendon; and bonus daughters: Annette Ardister, Tammy Hubbard, Donna Ray, Stacy Walton, Katrina Goudelock, and Evelyn Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 12:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 1:00pm, located at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Interment service will follow the funeral service at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
