Pastor Jeffrey Starks Obituary

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

It is with heavy, but humbled hearts that we announce the earthly transition of Pastor Jeffrey Glenn Starks, of Anderson, South Carolina, who entered into his eternal rest on April 10, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, South Carolina.

Pastor Jeffrey Glenn Starks, born November 12, 1962; and he departed this life on April 10, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, South Carolina. Jeffrey was the 6th child of Willie D. and Arbutus (Oglesby) Starks who preceded him in death.

Jeffrey joined the New Hope Hart Church at an early age, and then Holy Calvary as a teenager. He continued studying God’s word and was ordained as a Minister on May 31, 1987, by Rev. Thomas L. Jackson. On November 24, 1996, Rev. Starks was appointed the Pastor of Faith Chaple of District Evangelist of the F.B.H. Church of God of the Americas. On October 13, 2024, Elder Jeffrey Starks was ordained and set apart to the sacred office of Elder by Bishop Willie Anderson and Apostle Rena Anderson of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church of the First Resurrection, Greenville, South Carolina. Reverend Jeffrey Starks founded and pastored New Jerusalem Pentecostal Church of the First Resurrection, Anderson, South Carolina until his transition.

Jeffrey loved helping people. His primary focus was helping the elderly. He was well loved by everyone he met. He did not meet a stranger, strong-willed and determined, he met life challenges head on. As a result, his friends, family and acquaintances will mourn his loss.

Following the passing of his mother, Jeffrey’s care was entrusted to his sister Sylvia, as well as his great uncle and aunt, RD and Eula Oglesby.

Preceding him in death are two brothers Levis Carl Starks and Larry Donald Starks; foster parents LD Johnson and Rye Mary Johnson; foster brothers Willie Johnson, Syvester Johnson; foster sister Brenda Joyce Johnson; godmothers Mother Annie Arnold and Mother Clara Dooley.
