Pauline "Polly" (Gaines) Jones

Pauline "Polly" Gaines Jones, age 80 of Elberton, Georgia entered her eternal rest on Saturday, July 29, 2023. 

Pauline Gaines Jones, affectionally known as Mrs. Polly, was born on October 28, 1942, in Hartwell, Georgia. She was born to the late Paul and Fannie Mary Jackson Gaines.

Mrs. Polly celebrated life by accepting God as the Lord and Savior of her life at an early age. She was a Member of New Era Baptist Church in Elberton, Georgia. Mrs. Polly transitioned from this life to celebrate her homegoing on July 29, 2023.

Mrs. Polly understood the importance and power of knowledge, she graduated from the Hart County Training School in Hartwell, Georgia as well as the School of Cosmetology in Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Polly exuded the gift of servanthood, she inspired and empowered others through her gifted hands as a hairstylist and business owner of Polly’s Beauty Salon, she beautified and blessed the crown of the clients that she served. Mrs. Polly was an integral leader and was heavily involved in her church and within the community, in which she lived; she served as a Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Polly was instrumental in organizing the start-up of the Le-Ladies club. She also enjoyed her weekly quilting classes and Baking for Her Grand Children Every Weekend.

Mrs. Polly leaves to cherish her precious memory, her loving Husband, McArthur Jones; her two Sons,
Derrick Jones, Allist (Jameelah) Jones; Daughters-in-love; Pearl Rucker, Kalda Harris, & Lisa Rucker: Grandchildren; Sydney Miana Jones, Kristen Jones, Levi Jones, Hunter Maple Jones, Jacobi Jones, Nehemiah Jones, and London Jones, four Great-grandchildren, Siblings; Joel (Genia) Gaines, William (Angela) Rucker, and Brenda Daniel, Sister in love Kertina (Lloyd) Harris Brother-in-law Addison Rembert (Evelyn) Jones Jr., seven Sisters-in-Law, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Le- Ladies club members.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 11:00 - 12:00pm, located at New Era Baptist Church - Elberton, GA. 

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 12:00pm, located at New Era Baptist Church - Elberton, GA. 

Interment will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Cemetery/Bowman City Cemetery - Bowman, GA.
