Robert Dye, age 60, of Elberton, GA, passed away on April 27, 2026.He was born on February 21, 1966, in Elberton, GA, to Fannie Mae and Willie O’Neal Glaze. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Robert worked as a crane operator for Dixie Granite for decades. He was known for his warm smile and his love of sharing jokes with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Dye ; his mother, Fannie Mae Glaze; his children, Jessica Sorrells (Keith), McKayla Dye, and Shanika Rucker; his stepchildren, Jamia Norman and Jareece Norman; and his siblings, Angela Fortson (Kelvin), Kimberly Robertson, Keith Glaze, Martin Glaze (Renee), Derrick Robertson (Nefertiti), and Anthony Glaze (Dereka). He is also survived by his in-laws, Larry Raiford, Greg Ardister, Rick Ardister, Dianne Raiford, Brenda Raiford, Deborah Purnell (Dale), and Janice Lowe (Mike).
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie O’Neal Glaze; his brother, David Glaze; and his child, Latoya Glaze.
He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of 10 grandchildren, nieces and nephews, a special nephew, “Shorty” Lamarcus, and a host of aunts and uncles.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 1:00 - 5:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 2:00pm, located at Mack's Funeral Home - Elberton Chapel.
